Chris will happily talk through what you are thinking — a whole garden that has never quite worked, a slope that needs resolving, borders that have run out of ideas, or a planting plan for a layout you are already happy with. The consultation is a conversation about the brief, not a sales visit.

Useful things to have ready
None of it is required — but if you have it to hand, the consultation goes a great deal further.
- Roughly what you want to be doing out there: eating, sitting, growing, letting the children or the dog loose.
- A photograph or two of the garden as it is, taken from the house.
- The style, themes and colour palettes you are drawn to — and the ones you cannot stand.
- Anything you already know you want to keep: a tree, a view, a shed that has to stay.
- The budget you have in mind for the build. Saying it out loud early saves everyone a season.
